Detox at home

Demeevka works with this service confidentially and without judgement. First it is important to assess the person's condition, the risks and motivation and to choose the form of help that is appropriate right now.

Detox at home: when it is safe

Home detox fits mild to moderate intoxication, a relatively stable condition, and no serious co-existing illness. A doctor visits, assesses the state, sets up an IV drip and monitors how it goes. It relieves acute symptoms but does not treat the addiction itself.

The support is chosen after checking blood pressure, pulse, how long the use lasted, and any contraindications.

When home is not allowed

With severe withdrawal, arrhythmia, seizures or delirium, an inpatient stay is needed.

What comes after

Home detox is the first step. After stabilisation, psychotherapy, coding when indicated, and rehabilitation are discussed.

When this is relevant

Detox at home: confidential consultation Demeevka in Kyiv, condition assessment, safe care plan and family support.

  • an initial consultation and clarification of symptoms
  • risk assessment, contraindications and coexisting states
  • choice of the form of help: at home, outpatient or at the centre
  • an explanation of the further steps for the person and their loved ones
  • support after stabilisation and prevention of recurrence

How the request works

The first contact does not oblige you to start treatment. You can briefly describe the situation, ask questions and get guidance on a safe next step.

If there are acute symptoms, loss of consciousness, seizures, chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe hallucinations or a suspected overdose, you need to contact emergency medical help.
